This is a network for community facility organisations, ranging from village hall to sports centres. It's for groups that run physical locations that cater to the health, welfare, social, educational, spiritual, recreational, leisure and cultural needs of the community.
We're evaluating community interest in being part of a Welsh Government-funded project to roll out to the whole of Ceredigion the installation of public access electric vehicle (EV) charging points in community venues. With the sale of new petrol and diesel cars in the UK due to end in 2035 we want to ensure that communities are not left behind in this transition. This is our opportunity to help in this transition.
Places that may be considered include community premises/facilities such as village halls, places of worship, sports clubs (football, rugby etc), village shops/ pubs/ cafes/ other community businesses, and stand-alone village car parks.
When considering whether an EV charger is for you, please don't consider the current number of EVs in your community - instead focus on the practicalities of having a charger at your premises and its potential future use.
