Building a resilient food system in Aberystwyth
Food is precious. Wasting it is bad for our pockets and bad for our planet. Aber Food Surplus is taking action to reduce food waste in Aberystwyth, redistributing surplus food to the community; providing the Bywyd Dyfi project - selling local food produce; running a Community Kitchen and cooking workshops; Growing herbs; and having a community space available to rent. Together, we can change the way Aberystwyth, Wales and the world thinks about food.
Get involved with Aber Food Surplus to support your community to build a thriving local food culture. We are working towards a local food system that enables everyone in our community to have access to healthy and affordable food produced in balance with nature. We want our food system to strengthen our communities and support fair rewards for our farmers.
You can get involved in different ways, by helping with surplus food redistribution, or at the ECO Food Sharing Hub, Community Fridge, by cooking, helping with cleaning, growing food with our Tyfu Aber Grow project or helping us compost waste better, or by running cookery workshops and community sustainability focused educational classes. Or let us know how you would like to help out!
