Fairness for all

Know where your food is from – ask grocers, butchers and fishmongers how they source their products. Buy food which has been certified sustainable. Support small and local farmers – and make sure you’re paying a fair price.

Feeding Wales: our green recovery

Despite a constant tug of war on whether food is too expensive or too cheap, the price paid to fill our baskets rarely reflects the price received by producers.

Ffion Storer Jones

A Welsh green recovery must be inclusive to work for everybody. We’ve asked people in food and farming communities across Wales to tell us how things are for them today, also to describe what a good food system would look like, and to share what they believe needs to happen to bring that about.

Take back control

Regeneration and commercialization of local food chains is essential. Our Food Crickhowell and Monmouthshire Council Council are working with local farmers to do that.

Fairness for the environment

With agriculture being largely blamed as one of biggest contributors to climate change there needs to be a Wales wide approach to revise the industry and our relationship with our food supply chain. The environmental effects of modern consumer agriculture on wildlife and the connection between livestock feed and the deforestation of America’s rainforest is alarming. However, one possible answer is using the regenerative agriculture system as part of our farming principles to create Wales as a world leading nation in sustainable agriculture.
