Hi! We’re The Trotters Lounge - a small community interest company based in Cardigan, West Wales, founded to meet a growing and often overlooked need: accessible, dignified leg and foot care for people who no longer manage well on their own, but don’t qualify for formal support.
Our weekly club offers assisted leg washing, nail trimming, and friendly conversation in a warm, small-group setting. It’s practical support - but also emotional support. It’s a place to receive care, but also to be listened to with kindness, and able to relax among peers. Members can join seated leg exercises, arts and crafts, and enjoy tea and cake in good company.
The idea was born out of seeing the shortfall in services especially for older adults, disabled people, and those living with chronic health conditions. Many people quietly go without help until their situation worsens and they end up needing more intensive intervention. Or, they have treatment but are not considered needy enough to warrant nursing at home. These are people whose legs cares often go by the wayside. We’re here to bridge that gap and ensure they don’t!
Our team includes a trained foot care workers and is supported by volunteers and advisors with backgrounds in healthcare, community development, and small business. We keep our groups small, and our service low-cost. There are also subsidised and no-cost options for those who need it. This ensures it remains welcoming and inclusive for all.
