A 6 week TaiChi course for people with arthritic or musculoskeletal conditions which encompasses movements for wellbeing that can be done at home.
It can be hard to keep moving when you have arthritis but staying as active as possible can reduce your pain and the symptoms of your condition, and help you to stay independent.
As well as reducing your pain, exercise can:
- improve your muscle strength which keeps your joints strong and well-supported
- reduce stiffness in your joints
- help your balance
- improve energy levels and feelings of tiredness
- help you manage your weight
- boost your mood.
This course is for adults aged 18+ who live with arthritis and/or a musculoskeletal condition, such as Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis, or one of the many other arthritis conditions. It is designed to be of benefit to physical and mental health.
It will cover information about Tai Chi starting with a few light, gentle movements, either standing or seated, which progress over the 6 weeks into a sequence of movements that can be done at home once the course finishes. As this is limited number of participants course, there is an expectation that if you register you will complete the course.
