‘Merched A’r Byd Gwaith:  Y 19eg Ganrif hyd at Heddiw’

Bydd sioe sleidiau lluniau a geiriau fydd yn cyfeirio at y cerrig milltir hyn; a hefyd rhai geiriau fydd yn amlinellu y trobwyntiau a deddfwrddiaeth allweddol yn y frwydr hon i ferched gael yr un cyfleoedd â dynion i ennill, piau eu harian eu hunain a gwneud cynnydd yn eu gyrfaoedd mewn unrhyw faes.

Mae’r arddangosfa’n cymharu lluniau merched sy’n gweithio mewn swyddi penodol heddiw, gyda lluniau merched naill ai cyn iddynt dderbyn yr hawl i weithio, neu yn y cyfnod pan ganiateid iddyn nhw wneud y swyddi hynny yn gyfreithlon ac yn ôl confensiynau cymdeithasol y cyfnod. Mae’n olrhain mewn lluniau rhai o’r cerrig milltir ar hyd y ffordd i ferched fod ar dermau cyfartal i ryw raddau â dynion yn y gweithle.

Bywgraffiad

Rydw yn pryderu am broblemau’r amgylchedd. Rydw i wedi gweithio ym maes yr amgylchedd gan gynnwys gwaith ymchwil, addysg a garddio drwy gydol fy mywyd. Rydw i bob amser wedi bod â diddordeb yn y cyflwyniad gweledol, o safbwynt gwyddonydd ac arlunydd ac rydw i wedi creu delweddau mewn sawl cyfrwng.

Yn benodol, mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn creu lluniau’r tirlun a bywyd gwyllt; ond hefyd mewn cofnodi digwyddiadau a ffenomenau fel straeon hanes neu wyddoniaeth. Yn fy marn i mae angen i’r byd newid yn gyflym: ac ar ôl trio defnyddio gwyddoniaeth ac addysg rydw i wedi troi at gelf fel cyfrwng newydd ar gyfer y neges hon.

Mae’r arddangosfa hon yn archwilio sut mae newid gwleidyddol wedi digwydd mewn un maes; sut gallwn ni ddysgu o’r newid hon, a’r angen i barhau i frwydro er mewn gwneud newidiadau gwleidyddol i fynd i’r afael â newid hinsawdd, yn gyflym.

Rydw i wedi astudio lefel A mewn Ffotograffiaeth a Graffeg, ac wedi cwblhau cwrs sylfaenol mewn celf.

‘Women And Work:  19th Century to Now’

The exhibition compares pictures of women doing certain jobs now with those of either before women got the vote or around the time when they were first legally and socially, permitted to do that job. It traces in pictures some of the milestones along the way to women being on relatively equal terms in the workplace with men.

There is a slide show of pictures and words referencing some of these milestones and some words briefly out lining key turning points and legislation in this fight to for women to have the same opportunities as men to earn, own their money and progress their careers in any sphere.

Biography

I am concerned about environmental issues and have worked in environmental research, education and gardening throughout my life. I have always had an interest in the visual representation, both as a scientist and an artist and have produced images in different media.

Primarily I am interested in landscape and wildlife picture making, but also in recording events and phenomena as history or science. I see the need for the world to change fast: having tried science and education I am exploring art as a vehicle. I have studied A level photography and graphics and completed an art foundation course. This exhibition explores how political change has come about in one sphere; how we can learn from this and the need to keep fighting to bring about political change to address climate change, fast.
