Gyda’r gwanwyn bron wedi a chyrraedd, mae’n bryd cloddio a dechrau trawsnewid gerddi er mwyn sicrhau haf ffrwythlon

With spring almost upon us, it’s time to dig in and start transforming gardens to ensure a blooming fruitful summer.

I'r rhai nad oes ganddynt y bysedd gwyrdd neu'r wybodaeth sylfaenol sydd eu hangen i wneud eu mannau awyr agored yn fwrlwm, mae digon o help wrth law yn rhad ac am ddim. Bydd Tir Coed, yr elusen dysgu a lles awyr agored o Aberystwyth, yn cynnal dau gwrs garddio deg wythnos yn rhad ac am ddim – un yn canolbwyntio ar wella eich gardd ar gyfer bywyd gwyllt a’r llall yn canolbwyntio ar arddio organig.

For those lacking the green fingers or basic know-how needed to get their outdoor spaces buzzing, there is plenty of free help at hand. Aberystwyth-based outdoor learning and wellbeing charity Tir Coed will be hosting two free ten-week gardening courses – one focusing on improving your garden for wildlife and the other dedicated to organic gardening

Bydd y cwrs garddio bywyd gwyllt yn cael ei gynnal bob dydd Mercher o Fawrth 16 yng Nghoed Tyllwyd, Llanfarian, tra bod y cwrs garddio organig i’w gynnal bob dydd Llun o Fawrth 28 ar dir y fila Sioraidd syfrdanol yn Llanerchaeron yn nyffryn Aeron. Daw’r cyrsiau fel rhan o AnTir, prosiect uchelgeisiol chwe blynedd Tir Coed, sy’n ceisio lleihau anghydraddoldebau iechyd, cymdeithasol ac economaidd yng nghefn gwlad canolbarth a gorllewin Cymru drwy helpu pobl i ailgysylltu â byd natur.

The wildlife gardening course will be held every Wednesday from March 16 at Coed Tyllwyd, Llanfarian, while the organic gardening course is to take place every Monday from March 28 in the grounds of the stunning Georgian villa at Llanerchaeron in the Aeron valley. The courses come as part of Tir Coed’s ambitious six-year AnTir project, which aims to reduce health, social and economic inequalities in rural mid and west Wales by helping people reconnect with nature.

Alice Read, Tir Coed’s AnTir Feasibility Project co-ordinator, said:

“Gardening is a fantastic past-time for everyone – whatever their ability or experience – and the arrival of spring is the perfect time to get involved. Gardening helps put us in touch with nature and offers huge benefits to our physical health and mental wellbeing as well as helping the wildlife around us. It can even cut food bills when summer and autumn come around and the fruits of our labours are ready to harvest. Our wildlife gardening and organic gardening courses are the ideal opportunity to learn new skills, make friends and get your hands dirty under the supervision of our expert tutors.”
