Helping people tackle a range of mental health problems in a safe and welcoming environment
The Ceredigion Sanctuary Service is an open access, out-of-hours mental health and crisis support service, for adults living in the Ceredigion County. The Sanctuary is based in the centre of Aberystwyth and provides practical and therapeutic, holistic, person-centred support to people at risk of mental health crisis.
We provide face to face or telephone appointments for support.
The Sanctuary can help support with a range of issues such as:
- Difficulties or anxieties as a result of the coronavirus pandemic
- Stress and/or anxiety
- Low mood
- Financial worries
- Difficulties with loneliness, isolation, and family or relationship worries
- Domestic violence
- Deteriorating mental health as a result of a range of factors
The service is set in a welcoming and homely environment, with a lounge area, a kitchen/dining area, a shower room, and clothes washing facilities. There are also private areas for those who need quiet time or one-to-one support.
The Sanctuary aims to lessen hospital admissions and reduce the risk of of harm for people in their homes. Individuals' safety and wellbeing will be fully assessed before they return home, with referrals/signposting to other services as appropriate.

The Sanctuary is open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
