Bats in the belfry? Blind as a bat?!! These are not necessarily true! Bats roost in buildings, such as houses, and in trees and caves where the temperature is right for them. They are not blind as they can see but they echolocate to find their way around in the dark.
These amazing mammals of the night are insect eaters and eat many moths and midges every night. The most common bat is our pipistrelle which is so small it can fit in the size of small matchbox.
Naomi will be introducing you to the various bats that are found in Wales, so come and find
out more about them, some of which can be found at Denmark Farm. It is great to watch their silhouettes flying against the darkening night sky.
This is a 1 hour talk with an opportunity at the end for Questions and Answers.
