Teithiau cerdded byr, cyfeillgar ac am ddim - Short, free and friendly walks

Mae ein teithiau cerdded yn cael eu harwain gan wirfoddolwyr cyfeillgar a hyfforddedig sydd ar gael i gynnig cefnogaeth a chymorth, ac i wneud yn siŵr nad oes neb yn cael eu gadael ar ôl.

Mae ein teithiau cerdded yn fyr a thros dirwedd hawdd. Yn agored i bawb, maen nhw wedi’u hanelu at y bobl leiaf actif yn arbennig.

Cerdded ar gyfer iechyd corfforol

Mae ymarfer corff yn un o’r pethau gorau y gallwn ni wneud i’n cyrff. Yn ogystal â gwneud i chi deimlo’n well, mae gan ymarfer corff fuddion mawr o ran iechyd – corfforol a meddyliol. Mae cerdded yn un o’r mathau gorau o ymarfer corff – a gallwch chi ei wneud yn unrhyw le, ar unrhyw adeg. Mae cerdded yn gallu helpu i reoli a rhwystro amrywiol gyflyrau iechyd. Mae’n helpu eich calon, eich ysgyfaint a’ch pwysedd gwaed. Mae’n llosgi calorïau ac mae’n gallu helpu i reoli eich pwysau, i leihau blinder, eich helpu i gysgu’n well ac ystwytho poenau yn y cymalau.

Cerdded ar gyfer iechyd meddwl

Mae cerdded yn cyfrannu at les meddyliol ac at reoli cyflyrau iechyd meddwl presennol. Mae cerdded yn codi hwyliau, ac yn lleihau straen, gorbryder ac iselder. Mae cerdded yn rheolaidd yn diogelu eich lles meddyliol ac yn helpu eich ymennydd i weithio’n dda wrth i chi heneiddio. Pan fyddwn ni’n cerdded yn yr awyr agored, mae bod yng nghanol byd natur yn dod â manteision eraill i’n lles meddyliol.

Cerdded ar gyfer iechyd cymdeithasol

Mae cerdded mewn grwpiau yn cynnig manteision ychwanegol i’n lles meddyliol. Mae’n mynd i’r afael ag unigrwydd, yn gwella eich perthynas â phobl eraill ac yn eich helpu i gael cysylltiad â’ch cymuned. Felly, mae ymuno ag un o’n teithiau cerdded yn cynnig yr holl fanteision cerdded – yn gorfforol, yn feddyliol ac yn gymdeithasol.

Our calendar of walks is shown below.

If you wish to book onto Walking for Wellbeing walks you will need to register as a walker first, so that we have important information that will help us manage the walking programme safely and effectively.

Our group walks are led by friendly, trained volunteers who are on hand to provide encouragement and support, and make sure no one gets left behind.

Our walks are short and over easy terrain. They are open to everyone, but are especially aimed at those who are least active.

Walk for physical health

Exercise is one of the best things we can do for our bodies. Not only will you feel better, but exercise has major health benefits – physical and mental. Walking is one of the best forms of exercise – and you can do it anywhere, at any time. Walking can help to manage and prevent a range of health conditions. It has benefits for your heart, lungs and blood pressure. It burns calories and can help you manage your weight, reduces fatigue, helps you sleep better and can ease joint pain.

Walk for mental health

The benefits of walking to mental wellbeing and in managing mental health conditions are well established.  Walking improves mood, reduces stress, anxiety and depression. Regular walking protects your mental wellbeing and keeps your brain working well as you get older. When we take exercise outdoors by walking, being in nature brings additional benefits to our mental wellbeing.

Walk for social health

Walking in groups has been shown to have additional benefits to our mental wellbeing. It combats loneliness, increases your relationships with other people and helps you feel connected in your community. So, joining one of our walks gives you the health benefits of walking – physical, mental and social – all at once.

Project Coordinator – Dawn Forster

I started the role of Walking for Wellbeing Coordinator in January 2020. I am delivering the project across Ceredigion, working alongside GP surgeries, community organisations and volunteers. My aim is to get the people of Ceredigion more active through short, safe, walks in friendly groups.

We are currently walking in some of the most populated towns in Ceredigion and I hope you can join us for a walk soon. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would just like more details.
