Cefndir y Rhaglen:
Mae Rhaglen Mentora yn rhan o’n hymrwymiad i greu amgylchedd gwirfoddoli cefnogol a chynhwysol.
Beth mae’n ei olygu i fod yn Fentor?
Mentor yw cyd-wirfoddolwr sy’n cynnig arweiniad, cefnogaeth ac anogaeth i eraill. Mae nhw’n defnyddio eu profiad eu hunain i helpu pobl i feithrin hyder, datblygu sgiliau, ac ymdopi â heriau. Mae’r berthynas rhwng y mentor a’r person sy’n cael ei fentora yn seiliedig ar ymddiriedaeth, parch a dysgu gyda'u gilydd. Nid yw’r mentor yn oruchwyliwr – maent yn bartner cefnogol, gan rannu mewnwelediadau, gwrando’n weithredol, a’u helpu i fyfyrio ar eu nodau a’u profiadau.
Beth yw pwrpas y rhaglen?
Mae Rhaglen Mentora yn fenter gefnogol sy’n seiliedig ar dasgau, ac yn paru gwirfoddolwyr â mentoriaid sy’n gallu cynnig arweiniad un-i-un yn eu rolau. Mae wedi’i chynllunio i greu amgylchedd croesawgar a chynhwysol lle mae gwirfoddolwyr yn teimlo’n gefnogol ac yn gysylltiedig.
Pwy all gymryd rhan?
Mae’r rhaglen hon ar agor i bob gwirfoddolwr - boed yn newydd neu wedi gwirfoddoli ers tro - sydd am feithrin hyder, dysgu sgiliau newydd, neu gryfhau eu cysylltiad â chymuned y gwirfoddolwyr.
Pam rydym yn cyflwyno’r rhaglen?
Rydym yn cyflwyno’r rhaglen hon i greu diwylliant gwirfoddoli sy’n fwy cynhwysol a chefnogol. Trwy gynnig cymorth wedi’i deilwra i unrhyw un sy’n mynegi diddordeb, ein nod yw sicrhau bod pawb yn teimlo’n werthfawr, yn cael eu deall, ac yn teimlo’n hyderus yn eu rôl.
Sut mae’r rhaglen yn gweithio?
Mae gwirfoddolwyr yn cael eu paru â Mentoriaid sy’n cynnig cymorth a chefnogaeth ymarferol sy’n gysylltiedig a’u tasgau. Maen nhw’n cwrdd yn rheolaidd i adeiladu perthynas, gweithio ar dasgau, rhannu gwybodaeth, ac adeiladu hyder. Bydd staff y Cynllun Gwirfoddoli yn cynnig arweiniad parhaus, hyblygrwydd ac adnoddau i sicrhau bod mentoriaid a mentoriaid fel ei gilydd yn teimlo’n gefnogol drwy gydol eu taith.

Prif dasgau:
- Cefnogi a chynnig cymorth i'r person sy’n cael eu mentora, yn seiliedig ar ymddiriedaeth, parch ac empathi.
- Gwrando’n weithredol a chynnig arweiniad heb farnu.
- Annog gosod nodau personol a dathlu cynnydd.
- Cefnogi ei gilydd gyda thasgau, prosiectau a rolau gwirfoddol.
- Rhannu gwybodaeth a phrofiadau sy’n berthnasol i ddiddordebau neu anghenion y person sy’n cael eu mentora.
Allbwn: Cefnogi’r Llyfrgell a gwirfoddolwyr yn eu rolau sy’n seiliedig ar dasgau, tra’n cyfoethogi profiad gwirfoddoli cyffredinol.

- Cyfathrebu: Bod yn gallu cyfathrebu’n hyderus, yn glir, ac gyda empathi i gefnogi perthnasoedd mentora cadarnhaol.
- Ymroddiad: Mynychu sesiynau y cytunwyd arnynt a chadw mewn cysylltiad os oes angen newid.
- Cynhwysiant: Bod yn groesawgar ac yn parchu pob cefndir, oedran a gallu.
- Addasrwydd: Defnyddio dulliau ac offer sy’n gweddu orau i ffordd orau eich mentorai o weithio a dysgu.
- Parodrwydd i ddysgu: Bod yn agored i adborth ac yn awyddus i ddatblygu eich sgiliau mentora.

The Mentorship Programme is part of our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive volunteer environment.
What does it mean to be a mentor?
A Mentor is a fellow volunteer who offers guidance, support, and encouragement to others. Drawing on their own experience, mentors help build confidence, develop skills, and navigate challenges. It is a relationship based on trust, respect, and mutual learning. Mentors are not supervisors - they are a supportive partner, sharing insights, listening actively, while helping them reflect on their goals and experiences.
What is this programme all about?
The Mentorship Programme is a task-based support initiative that pairs volunteers with mentors who can offer one-to-one guidance in their roles. It’s designed to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where volunteers feel supported and connected.
Who is this programme for?
This programme is open to all volunteers - whether new or longstanding - who want to build confidence, learn new skills, or strengthen their connection with the volunteer community.
Why are we implementing this programme?
We’re introducing this programme to foster a more inclusive and supportive volunteer culture. By offering tailored assistance to any volunteer who expresses interest, we aim to ensure everyone feels valued, understood, and empowered in their role.
How does the programme work?
Volunteers are matched with Mentors who provide both companionship and practical, task-based support. Together, they meet regularly to build rapport, work on tasks, share knowledge, and grow in confidence. Volunteering Scheme staff will offer ongoing guidance, flexibility, and resources to ensure both mentors and mentees feel supported throughout their journey.
Location: The National Library Wales
Main tasks:
- Build a positive companionship with your mentee based on trust, respect, and empathy.
- Listen actively and offer guidance without judgment.
- Encourage goal setting and celebrate progress.
- Support each other with volunteer tasks, projects, and roles.
- Share knowledge and experiences relevant to your mentee’s interests or needs.
Output: Supporting The Library and volunteers in their task-based roles, while enriching overall volunteer experience.
Essential:
- Communication: Be able to communicate confidently, clearly, and with empathy to support positive mentoring relationships.
- Commitment: Attend agreed sessions and communicate if changes are needed.
- Inclusivity: Be welcoming and respectful of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities.
- Adaptability: Use approaches and tools that best suit your mentee’s preferred way of working and learning.
- Willingness to learn: Be open to feedback and keen to develop your mentoring skills.
Desirable:
- The ability to converse in Welsh (not essential).
- An interest in The Library’s collections.
